Former president Maumoon Abdul Gayoom's lawmaker son Ahmed Faris Maumoon on Tuesday morning was brought to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital for a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan appointment.

The outspoken lawmaker was transported from Maafushi penitentiary to the capital on Tuesday morning for the medical need, however none of his family or relatives were informed prior to his transport and neither notified afterwards.

Authorities and no one close to the Dhiggaru MP have disclosed the exact nature behind Faris Maumoon attending the government hospital for an MRI scan.

Prior to his summoning at Criminal Court on Monday for the pressed terrorism charges, Faris Maumoon was transported to hospital for medical reasons.
