Worker's leg gets crushed under forklift at commerical harbor site

A laborer working on-site of Maldives Ports Limited's commercial harbor zone has been victimized after his leg got completely crushed under an operating forklift at vicinity.

Authorities have since identified the severely injured as a Bangladeshi national who employs a laborer at the commercial harbor site.

Maldives Police Service confirms they received the report of an expatriate getting severely injured at the MPL commercial harbor site around 11:55hrs on Wednesday morning. Authorities had further confirmed the accident was under investigation and the injured individual was immediately transferred to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for medical emergency.

Reports claim the expatriate had sustained severe damage to his right leg, which was crushed up to his heel under the heavy pressure of the forklift wheel.
