Elections Commission (EC) of Maldives on Wednesday has decided not to include photographs on voters list.
In a tweet the island nation's electoral watchdog had confirmed to proceed ahead with the exclusion of photographs on the revised voters list. However the commission had not disclosed the reason for this exclusion.
Members of Elections Commission were unavailable to comment about the decision.
In previous cases the photograph of the voter along with their national identity card number and permanent address is reflected on the list.
The commission has scheduled the 2018 presidential elections on September 23.
