Army parade for Maldives Independence Day celebration postponed

The Maldives Independence Day celebration drill and parade by Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has been pushed back to Sunday at 16:00hrs.

The island nation commemorated its 53rd independence day on Thursday, July 26.

The army parade and drill is the most coveted event during independence day celebratory activities, which took place at the reclaimed suburb Hulhumale' last year.

The parade is scheduled to start at 16:00hrs at Bandaara Koshi - army's main base - at Maldives capital. The parade will continue from Boduthakurufaanu Magu, heading west and turn to Orchid Magu reaching to the main road Majeedhee Magu.
