Opposition Pres candidate visits Lanka on campaign trip

Opposition presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has flown to neighboring Sri Lanka on Sunday to rally support for upcoming presidential elections.

The neighboring Lanka, is home for thousands of Maldivian citizens residing for various reasons. Solih is expected to meet with the Maldivian locals during his visit to Sri Lanka.

Solih is scheduled to meet with thousands of supporters on Monday afternoon, which is reported to last until late in the evening.

The self-exiled former president Mohamed Nasheed, who is currently residing at Sri Lanka to closely follow the elections, will be joining Solih in his campaign visit.

Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) endorsed presidential candidate will return home on Tuesday after concluding a three-day trip.
