Immigration warns actions on expats involved in political activities

Maldives Immigration has warned expatriates residing in Maldives under work or travel visa from taking part in political affairs or activities internal to the island nation.

In a statement Immigration Department said expatriates taking part in Maldivian political affairs are violating their visa terms and conditions, adding necessary action will be taken against anyone found committing the offense.

Maldives Immigration further warned such foreigners will be immediately deported to their home country after terminating their visas.

Furthermore Immigration Department also warned local employers of taking action against them if they were found guilty of coercing their expat employees to take part in political activities.
