A local shop operated at Addu City Hithadhoo caught fire, resulting in massive damages on early Sunday morning.
Although the damage to the outlet has been heavy, authorities confirm there were no human casualties.
Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has confirmed they received report of the fire around dawn of Sunday and were able to completely extinguish the flames around 05:00hrs.
Reports confirm about 90% of the outlet along with goods have been incinerated completely while Maldives Police Service have commenced investigation to identify the cause.
