Dr. Shaheem declares opposition as 'enemies of the state'

Progressive Party of Maldives' (PPM) running-mate Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has claimed the opposition coalition consisted of 'enemies of the state.'

While addressing the public of Dhaal atoll Ban'didhoo, Dr. Shaheem stated coalition run governments are characteristically weak in nature due to ideological clashes within the varying political perspectives by its parties.

Dr. Shaheem said that such a coalition was doomed to fail from the beginning.

He also urged Maldives public to preserve president Abdulla Yameen's regime and extend his administration by another five years. The ruling party running-mate also stressed incumbent president had faced several challenges in his first term while attempting to correct the island nation's political course.

The ruling party presidential candidate seeking re-election has managed to triumph over the challenges and take the country into a new age of socio-economic development, said Dr. Shaheem.

Noting the importance of re-electing Abdulla Yameen, Dr. Shaheem explained the full realization of current developmental projects under progress can be achieved only if the incumbent president takes top-office seat once again.

His running-mate had praised the island nation's head of state for his intellectual prowess and leadership qualities.

Dr. Shaheem further claimed that the Maldivian public is tasked with the responsibility of choosing to preserve the country's sovereignty and the preservation of Islamic faith.
