Parliament Speaker Abdulla Maseeh Mohamed has praised incumbent president Abdulla Yameen, stating the Maldives head of state is 'too smart' for opposition's schemes.
While speaking in front a large crowd at Fuvahmulah City, Maseeh noted that president Abdulla Yameen understands local politics like no other and has 'mastered the playground.'
"Opposition has attempted on multiple times to pit our president into a corner, they have tried to entrap him [president Yameen] several times. But every single effort of theirs' have been met with failure, because he [Yameen] is smarter than them and a lot more experienced to fall for any of their ploys," Maseeh praised the PPM leader seeking re-election in 2018.
Maseeh also highlighted the ruling party's concerns about opposition's apparent attempts to introduce a parliamentary system to Maldives. The parliament speaker claimed such a decision could result in Maldives being ruled by a foreigners.
Further praising the country's leader, Maseeh claimed that dominating percentage of the youth agrees president Yameen as the 'Most Youth Friendly President' and as the 'Most Dynamic President.'
