Two Bangladeshi men serving time at Maafushi Prison were involved in an assault on Thursday, injuring one.
The police revealed that a 31-year old man sustained injuries in a physical altercation that took place between the man and another Bangladesh inmate.
The police said the man injured in the incident had suffered haemoptysis after being kicked in the chest. The man is currently receiving treatment at state-run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in capital Male’.
The police are investigating the incident further.
