A portal has been established to maintain a registry of foreign workers in Maldives.
The ‘Haraheri’ web portal was inaugurated by Economic Minister Fayyaz Ismail on Wednesday.
Speaking to the media after the ceremony at the Labour Relations Authority, Minister Fayyaz said the portal will bring about a collective solution for the current issues faced concerning foreign workers.
The portal is designed to be maintained by island councils. It is the responsibility of the island councils to update the registry with the information of foreign workers in their respective islands. The portal will show the profile of the individual in addition to the Maldivian employer in-charge of the worker.
