Assistant Controller of Maldives Immigration Hamid Fathuhullah has been terminated from his post.
Chief Principal Immigration Officer Moosa Rameez was appointed for the post following Hamid;s dismissal.
Immigration reports that Hamid was terminated after being on suspension since February over a case being investigated by the Civil Service Commission (CSC). The authority did not reveal further details of the case.
The CSC is investigating a case involving Hamd on the request of Maldives Immigration. While several incidents which weere against the regulations of the authority occurred during the presidency of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom, Immigration Controller Mohamed Ahmed Hussain earlier stated that major changes will be brought about within the authority in order to reform Maldives Immigration.
