Revenue generated from domestic flights increase by 20%

Maldives Inland Revenue Authoriity (MIRA) has revealed that the revenue generated by domestic flights have increased by 20% during the second quarter of the year.

National Tax Agency, MIRA's statistics on the second quarter show that MVR 48 million was received as revenue from domestic flights during the first quarter of the year. However, a 20% hike was recorded in the second quarter, with MVR 58 million generated as revenue owing to increased number of tourist arrivals and tourist beds during the period.

887 tourism facilities are registered in the Maldives. Currently. the number of tourist beds reach 48,825. A new airline also began operation to Maldives during the current year.
