A man attempting to enter Maldives by impersonating another individual was caught by Maldives Immigration on Sunday.
The man attempted to use a passport of an individual who shared similar physical features with him to enter the country. Maldives Immigration did not disclose his identity or nationality.
It is a frequent practice for deported foreign workers to re-enter Maldives by impersonation. Relevant authorities are working on strengthening the country's border control system and are taking steps against human trafficking.
