Finance Ministry has revealed that the expenditure of the universal health insurance scheme of the Maldives, Aasandha has reached MVR 698 million during the current year.
The ministry's Weekly Fiscal Developments statistics show that a budget of MVR 1 billion was allocated to Aasandha for 2019. While three months remains for the year to end, MVR 698.6 million has been spent thus far.
The report said while MVR 1.097 billion has been allocated in the current year's budget for subsidies, MVR 790.9 million has been utilized. Public Sector Investment Program (PSIP) projects were allocated MVR 7.2 billion, and 2.5 million of the amount has been used.
The state is estimated to receive MVR 24 billion as revenue including grants. While MVR 16 billion has been received this year, MVR 18 million has been utilized from a total budget of MVR 31 billion allocated for the current year.
