India's Chief of Army General Bipin Rawat arrived in the Maldives on Sunday on an official visit.
General Rawat was received at Velana International Airport by the Chief of Defense Force Abdulla Shamaal, Vice Chief of Defense Brigadier General Abdul Raheem Abdul Latheef, and other senior officials of Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF).
MNDF revealed General Rawat will be calling on the President of the Maldives and the Highest in Command of the Defense Force Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, Minister of Defense Mariya Ahmed Didi and Chief of Defesce Force Major General Abdulla Shamaal.
General Rawat is also scheduled to meet some cabinet ministers, in addition to visiting the Composite Training Center at MNDF's Northern Area Headquarters in Lh. Maafilaafushi.
General Rawat will be concluding his visit on 4th October.
