Maldives Police Services (MPS) are investigating a case where a Bangladeshi expat residing in the Maldives was taken hostage.
MPS informed that they received reports of a the incident around 2:45 pm on Sunday afternoon. While the police immediately began work to locate the missing man, the man turned up after escaping from his kidnappers one day later, said the police.
After the man escaped his kidnappers, he had presented himself at the police station to give his statement against his kidnappers.
MPS stated that they are investigating the case further. However, no arrests have been made thus far.
