Indian Army Chief calls on Defense Minister

India's Chief of Army Bipin Rawat has called on Defense Minister Mariya Ahmed Didi.

General Rawat arrived in Maldives on Sunday evening. Defense Ministry revealed the age-old military relations between the two countries were discussed during Monday's meeting.

During his visit, General Rawat will be calling on the President of the Maldives and the Highest in Command of the Defense Force Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, and Chief of Defense Force Major General Abdulla Shamaal.

General Rawat is also scheduled to meet some cabinet ministers, in addition to visiting the Composite Training Center at MNDF's Northern Area Headquarters in Lh. Maafilaafushi.

General Rawat will be concluding his visit on 4th October.
