An expatriate who attempted to bring in counterfeit work visas into the country has been arrested.
Maldives Immigration said an expatriate who attempted to bring in counterfeit work visas was detained and arrested, and confirmed that the authority is investigating the matter.
The authority publicized a photo of the man, as well as the counterfeit work visa cards.
In the last few weeks, Maldives Immigration has identified and prevented the entry of several people who attempted to enter Maldives by impersonation. The government is working to resolve the expatriate issue currently faced by the country.
