Khaleel to be appointed as representative to OIC

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has proposed to appoint Mohamed Khaleel as the Maldivian Representative to Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The President has forwarded Khaleel's name for Parliament approval.

Khaleel is the Maldivian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. He was appointed for the position during June this year.

OIC is the second-largest intergovernmental organization after the UN, and works to safeguard and protect the interests of the Muslim world in the spirit of promoting international peace and harmony among various people of the world.
