JSC suspends Chief Justice, Judge Adam; seeks dismissal

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) is seeking the dismissal of Chief Justice Dr Ahmed Abdulla Didi and Supreme Court Justice Adam Mohamed Abdulla.

JSC on Wednesday suspended the two justices for a period of 60 days, and announced their decision to seek the dismissal of the two top court justices.

A statement released by the commission announcing their decision said the two judges were suspended due to the nature of the cases being investigated against the judge, in a bid to uphold the confidence in the judicial sector.

JSC said while the alleged misconduct of the two judges are being investigated, they do not conduct themselves in the manner expected of judges. While actions that are in violation of the expected standard of judges have been proven against the judges, the commission is seeking the removal of the two justices through the Parliament, read the statement.
