Bank of Maldives (BML) has established a self-service banking centre in Velidhoo.
Along with the centre, three branches providing banking services, three self-service banking ATMs and cash agents will also be established in residential islands around N. Atoll.
The national bank's aim is to provide a service that allows entrepreneurs and various businesses to access funds, make payments, and transfers from the branches' self service banking centers 24 hours a day.
BML revealed that account opening, personal/business loan provision, and credit/debit card services will be made available as well.
Speaking on these services, the bank's CEO and Managing Director Tim Sawyer said it brought him great joy to provide banking services through the new branch to the people and businesses of Velidhoo.
He further stated that these efforts were an integral step of an investment programme initiated by the bank to expand banking services in the country as a whole, and provide services through convenient means.
The bank envisions to establish 38 branches, 50 self-service banking centres, 115 ATMs, and 277 cash agents and contemporary online banking services within 20 atolls. According to BML the main objective of these establishments it to provide aid and support to entrepreneurs, businesses, and societies in regions across the country.
