Fisheries Minister of Fiji Arrives in Maldives

The Fisheries Minister of Fiji Semi Koroilavesau has arrived in Maldives. The Minister arrived Saturday to participate in the 34th session of the INFOFISH Governing Council.

The Ministry of Fisheries of Maldives has revealed that the council meeting will ensue from December 16 - 19.

INFOFISH was originally launched in 1981 as a project of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. Since 1987, it is an Intergovernmental Organization providing marketing information and technical advisory services to the fishery industry of the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.

Thirteen countries are currently members of INFOFISH - Bangladesh, Cambodia, Fiji, India, Iran, Malaysia, Maldives, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.
