MNDF increased alert level

The MNDF have increased their alert level receiving information that there might be a threat to the national security and have started to check sea vessels.

The MNDF has increased its alert level to “alert2” from 19 hours on Tuesday. MNDF’s “alert2” is upon receiving information that the national security might be at threat.

From Tuesday night onwards MNDF has been stopping and checking sea vessels. However, since it is a matter of national security, no further information is provided.

MNDF says that their alert level has been increased to ensure the safety and security of the public and the nation and they are confident that they will receive full support from the public.

In a recent statement, MNDF stated that there are about 1400 extremists in the Maldives who will not hesitate to take someone’s life. In an operation conducted recently, the MNDF had arrested some extremists from R.Maduvvaree.
