President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih said on Wednesday that he will make the necessary amendment in the law to provide a facilitating environment for the Maldivian investors interested in infrastructure development.
Speaking in the opening ceremony of the newly established mosque funded by a Maldivian businessman in N.Kendhikulhudhoo, the President said that it is a precedence of the government to provide a facilitating environment for such ventures.
“We are seeing the result of the government’s efforts even today. In the future as well efforts will be made to ease the challenges faced especially by the investors and the necessary amendments will be made in the law”, said the President.
The President further said for the development of the Maldives that the government’s plan is not to discriminate any island in providing the basic services for the public. Hence, he highlighted on some development projects of the government’s “Jazeera Raajje” (Island Maldives) vision and provided assurance that the vision will be realized.
The mosque was funded by the Maldivian tourist businessman Mohamed Umar Manik. It can accommodate 550 worshipers at a time. While the President laid the foundation of the mosque early last year, this is the first mosque that the current government laid the foundation and opened.
