Minimal likelihood of sea swells: MET

Maldives Meteorological Service has stated that the likelihood sea swells in islands is minimal.

The authority said that while the likelihood of sea swells is minimal, some islands in the southern region are likely to experience bad weather and heavy rain showers. It was further forecasted that while central atolls will experience rough seas, it will be moderate in other regions.

Several islands around the country experienced bad weather and powerful sea swells in the last two-three days. There was also severe flooding in Gdh. Thinadhoo, where the waters are currently being receded.

MET Office have issued white alert, announcing that heavy showers accompanied by thunder are likely to ensue around the Southern Province until 11:00 on Sunday.
