Investigating cases of Chief Magistrates of three islands

Judicial Services Commission (JSC) has decided to investigae the cases Chief Magistrates of three islands.

JSC has said they had come to a conclusion in a meeting held Tuesday to investigate the case of disciplinary issues of Chief Magistrates of three islands and that an investigation committee is formed to look into the matter.

JSC decided to investigate the case of Ahmed Amir, Chief Magistrate of Adh. Dhangethi Court, Abdul Muhsin Abdul Hameed, Chief Magistrate of Ga.Nilandhoo Court, and Mohamed Moosa, Chief Magistrate of Lh. Naifaru Court.

With the recent changes brought to JSC, issues of numerous judges are brought to surface and actions are being taken. Issue of judges are brought to light irrespective of upper courts to lowers courts – to terminate the judges, cases are submitted to the parliament. In line with the submissions, the parliament had dismissed several judges – this includes the four judges of the highest court, Supreme Court.
