Dr Mariyam Shakeela, former Health Minister during the administration of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom, received an award in recognition for being an influential leader.

Shakeela is an alumna of Curtin University, Australia. The awarders have noted that she practices the leadership qualities that bring a positive impact to the world.
The current CEO of SIMDI Group, a prominent business venture in the Maldives, Shakeela had formerly served as a Health Minister and Environment Minister of the Maldives.
