Met office issues weather advisory for southern part of Maldives

A yellow weather alert has been issued to the southern part of the Maldives.

According to the National Meteorological Service, adverse weather conditions with wind gusts upto 30 mph and air pressure of 50 mph will be experienced 1330hrs to 1630hrs in southern atolls Gaaf Alif and Addu.

The Maldives has been experiencing the seasonal adverse weather conditions since late April. A deep depression that originated in the Bay of Bengal has impacted the country. An orange alert was issued for the first time in the recent history of the Maldives on Thursday.
