Over 30 positive patients unreachable: HEOC

The Health Emergency Operations Centre (HEOC) Saturday said 33 individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 are unreachable.

HEOC said 348 COVID-19 patients are yet to be transferred to isolation facilities. The delay in their transfer is due to various reasons, said the centre. While 89 individuals have refused to go to isolation facilities, 18 patients are awaiting the results of other family members. According to HEOC, 33 patients are unreachable. However, arrangements are now in progress to transport 194 patients to isolation facilities, HEOC said.

Nine resorts are currently in use to house COVID-19 patients until their recovery. A special 250-bed treatment centre has been developed at Hulhumale’ for COVID-19 patients, and 16 beds are available for critical patients at Dharumavantha Hospital.
