PCR negative certificate required to visit Maldives from Sept 10

The Tourism Ministry has announced that policies have been changed such that a negative PCR certificate is required for entry to Maldives after September 10th.

Minister Dr. Abdulla Mausoom has previously stated that the government is bringing changes to the policies to ensure the safety and protection of everyone. The move would give more confidence to tourists visiting the archipelago that the country is safe, he said.

The Maldives closed its borders to tourists on March 17 as a precautionary measure against COVID-19. While the borders were reopened on July 15, the number of tourists visiting the Maldives are significantly lesser compared to pre-COVID-19 days
