The Central Bank has temporarily suspended issuing money exchange licenses to companies.
Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) said a large number of licenses have been issued in comparison to the population of the Maldives. Therefore, new licenses will not be issued effective from October 15. The bank further said that the regulations on money exchange services are being revised.
