The United Nations has donated Personal Protective Equipment Equipment (PPE) to the Maldives as part of its COVID-19 Integrated Response Support.
A ceremony was held at the Foreign Ministry on Sunday to handover the donation to the Maldives government. The items were handed over to Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid by UNDP Resident Representative, Akiko Fuji.
The donated items include hazmat suits, N95 masks, surgical gowns and masks, goggles, head and shoe covers, face shields and examination gloves. The Foreign Ministry said the items will be utilized in the efforts to prevent the further spread of COVID-19 in the Maldives, and by frontline workers.
