The Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ office building has been handed back to the Maldives’ government following renovation. The renovation work was carried out under Chinese aid by Shanghai Construction Group.
The agreement to renovate the Foreign Ministry building was signed between China and Maldives during December 2018. The building was officially handed over following completion of the project on Thursday.
In a ceremony held on Thursday, the symbolic keys of the building were handed over to the ministry by Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives, Zhang Lizhong. The keys were received by State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel.
