President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has made the decision to appoint a non-resident ambassador to Qatar.
The decision was announced by Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid during the President’s recent visit to Qatar. The main objective of the President’s visit to Qatar was to further develop bilateral bonds following the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The Foreign Minister's statement said that President Solih’s decision to appoint a non-resident ambassador was welcomed by Qatar.
