NDMA's COVID-19 related spending at MVR 867 mln

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has spent over MVR 867 million as COVID-19 related expenses until now.

According to the 'COVID-19 Spending Report' published by the Finance Ministry, NDMA had utilized MVR 867.9 million by April 5 for COVID-19 related purposes. This includes MVR 114.1 million spent on operation services, MVR 36 million on employee allowances and MVR 112.5 million spent on capital equipment. A further MVR 362.7 million was spent on supplies and requisites while MVR 39.8 million was utilized for travel expenses.

According to the COVID-19 spending report, the total health spending to control the spread of the disease is well over MVR 3.3 billion. Economic response spending is around MVR 1.6 billion.
