Curfew to be imposed on all islands under HPA monitoring

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has stated that curfews will be imposed on all islands which is under HPA's monitoring status.

Islands are placed under HPA's monitoring if positive cases of COVID-19 are identified from the islands.

According to HPA, curfews will be in place from 9:00 pm until 04:00 am in all islands where the agency's monitoring mechanisms have been activated. A vehicle ban will be in effect at this time, and the public will not be allowed outside. The new measures will come into effect on Wednesday.

HPA said similar to the measures imposed on Male' City, citizens will be allowed to go outside only to meet essential needs in islands under HPA monitoring. Parties and other ceremonies are banned as well as visiting other households. Groups of over three people are not allowed to socialize together.

Additionally, gyms, salons and hairdressers will not be allowed to open, and all sports activities must be ceased. Shops may remain open as per HPA's guidelines. Dine in services at cafe's and restaurants will not be allowed, and can only offer delivery and takeaway services.

As per the latest figures shared by HPA, monitoring mechanisms have been activated in 70 islands and entry and exit from these islands have been prohibited.
