MP Easa's case to be forwarded to PG for charging

A domestic violence case against Kendhikolhudhoo MP, Ahmed Easa will be forwarded to the Prosecutor General's Office for charging.

Easa's ex-wife Asra Naseem on May 18th gave a statement to the police after a domestic violence case against Easa was reported following an alleged altercation between the two. According to sources, the incident was reported to the police by neighbors who live in the same building as the former couple. Asra received treatment for her injuries from state-run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital. Although Asra initially gave a statement to the police, she later requested the police to drop the case.

The police media official said the authority has concluded the investigation into the incident and are in the process of forwarding the case to the Prosecutor General's Office for charging. The Prosecutor General's Office had previously requested the court for an order to arrest Easa. However, the request was denied by the court.
