A 22-year old has died in a freak accident after being thrown off a moving jet ski. The man has been identified as Shunan Shareef.
The accident occurred in Sh. Funadhoo lagoon on Saturday afternoon. According to the police, the victim and another person were riding on an inflatable seabed tied to the back of the jet ski, and Shunan was thrown off as the jetski made a sharp turn. He hit a metal post of a beach hut on the shore. He passed away from the injuries after being taken to the hospital.
The second person on the seabed jumped into the water.
The police are investigating the case.
