A collision between a speed boat and a dhoni has resulted in the death of an individual.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Rasheed Mohamed, 68, of Nayaa Daisy, Ihavandhoo.
Police said the accident occurred early tonight near Huvahandhoo, an uninhabited island near Ihavandhoo.
Following the accident, a total of three individuals, including Ahmed Rasheed, were taken to Ihavanduhoo Health Center for treatment. Abdul Rasheed passed away while undergoing treatment, according to some sources in Ihavandhoo.
Abdul Rasheed was manning the boat at the stern of the boat when the collision occurred.
