One has died in a sea accident that occured late Saturday afternoon.
Three passengers aboard a speedboat traveling from Male' City to V. Fulidhoo were flung into the ocean after the boat hit a massive wave while near Olhuveli Beach Resort. While two of them have been found, search is still ongoing for the third person - a four-year-old child. The boat, along with its passengers, have been taken to K. Guraidhoo.
According to a source from Guraidhoo, one of the two people who were recovered from the sea has passed away. The woman- the mother of the missing child- was dead when she was brought to the island's health center.
The Maldives is experiencing adverse weather conditions, and authorities have been warning sea travel is dangerous in the current conditions.
