A young man has died in B. Maalhos after being impaled by the bill of a swordfish.
The police media official said a 31-year local male who went snorkelling was impaled in the chest by a swordfish bill on Wednesday. The man was taken to the Baa Atoll Hospital around 4:10 pm, and passed away while receiving treatmet, said the police.
Dangerous incidents involving swordfish bills occur in the Maldives from time to time.
