The Maldives on Thursday reported 218 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), 86 positive cases were recorded from the Greater Male' Region while 129 cases were reported from the atolls, including resorts. This increases the archipelago's tally to 71,356.
6,930 cases are active at this time. 67 people are currently hospitalized, out of which nine are admitted at Dharumavantha Hospital's DH11 facility. Five of them are on ventilator support and four are in the Intensive Care Unit. Eight patients are also admitted at Hulhumale' Medical Facility's ICU, and five are on ventilator support.
Two COVID-19 deaths were recorded over the past 24 hours. The country's toll is at 201.
