The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has decided to release those who have completed two doses of the vaccine who are already in travel quarantine in islands. HPA made the decision in light of the new guidelines that allow those who complete the vaccine doses to traveling without quarantine.
An announcement made by the agency on Thursday said those who have completed vaccine doses and are in quarantine can be released with a negative PCR test. The arrangement is also applied to children who are below the age of 18.
HPA will also give leniency to foreigners traveling to the Maldives if they have completed the doses of any vaccine approved for emergency use by the World Health Organization (WHO). In this regard, the quarantine period will be shortened to 7 days for such people. Those already in the quarantine may be released after seven days when a negative PCR test result is presented.
