Niyazy appointed as Auditor General

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih Tuesday appointed Hussain Niyazy as the Auditor General.

Niyazy was appointed to the post in accordance with Article 210 of the constitution. Niyazy took the oath of office before Supreme Court Justice ‌‎Ustaz Mahaz Ali Zahir at a ceremony held on Tuesday morning at the President's Office.

Hussain Niyazy is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), from the United Kingdom since 2008. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Bangalore, India.

Hussain Niyazy filled several posts in the Auditor General’s Office including the post of Assistant Auditor General, Audit Manager and Assistant Auditor. Niyazy is currently a council member of the Maldives Institute of Chartered Accountants. He is the Chairperson of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives' Admission and Licensing Committee, among other positions in the profession.
