The frequency of flights between Bangladesh and Maldives has been increased due to high demand ahead of the upcoming Eid holidays.
Four daily flights currently fly between Dhaka, Bangladesh, and Vealana International Airport. According to Island Aviation that operates Maldivian Airline, additional flights are being arranged for July 21 and July 23 due to soaring demand.
A large number of Bangladeshis are employed in the Maldives. Recent statistics show over 60 percent of foreigners working in the Maldives is from Bangladesh. A large number of Bangladeshi nationals in the Maldives fly back to their countries for the Eid holidays.
