The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has warned that there may be delays in receiving PCR test results due to a high number of people testing for travel purposes.
HPA said a large number of people are doing PCR tests ahead of the upcoming Eid holidays, which increases the volume of samples to be tested. Therefore, delays in receiving results are expected. Although a large number of people are doing tests, priority will be given to those with symptoms and direct contacts of positive patients, said HPA.
HPA earlier this month announced that those who have completed both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine can travel across the Maldives without quarantine. Those who recover from the illness can also travel without quarantine if three months have not passed since they tested positive.
