Pres appoints new state ministers to two ministries

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih Thursday appointed Hussain Ismail as the Minister of State for Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, and Mohamed Shihab as the new State Minister for Gender, Family and Social Services.

Hussain Ismail holds a Diploma in Marketing and Tourism Development Planning from Belgium. He has previously served as the Deputy Minister of Human Resources, Youth and Sports. Currently, he is the Chairman of Heat Health and Fitness and the President of Laamu Fonadhoo constituency.

Mohamed Shihab attained his Diploma in Educational Planning and Administration from the Institute of Educational Planning and Administration, New Delhi, India. Mohamed Shihab is currently serving as a board member at the Family Protection Authority and as a Child’s Right Ambassador at the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives. He was previously the Chief Executive Officer of Damas Private Limited. He had also previously filled the post of Deputy Director at the Ministry of Education and Assistant Principal at Majeedhiyya School.
