MTCC contracted to construct L. Gan harbour

The government has contracted the harbor construction of L. Gan to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

Director-General of Planning Ministry, Fathimath Shaana Farooq signed the contract on behalf of the government, and CEO of MTCC, Adam Azim signed the contract on behalf of the company at a special ceremony held at the ministry on Wednesday.

The design and build of Gan harbor project consist of channel and harbor dredging, construction of a 360-meter sand fill breakwater, a 310-meter quay wall, 17-meter submerge breakwater as well as a 128-meter revetment. It also includes the installation of mooring rings buoys, navigation lights, construction of a 1550 square meter pavement, and a causeway.

The total cost of this project is MVR 24,713,040.05 and is expected to be completed within 365 days.
