Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has given an update on the construction of five harbours under development.
In MTCC's latest update, the company said 50 percent of the Lhaimagu harbour development project had been completed. The cost of the project is MVR 56.3 million.
The company said 88 percent of the Hulhudhoo Harbour Development project is now complete. The construction of the harbor pavement and installation of street lights have been completed, and the first shipment of boulders has been delivered to the project site, MTCC said. This project is valued at MVR 66.3 million.
In its update on the development of Dhaandhoo harbour, MTCC said the first shipment of boulders has now been delivered to the site. This is a project worth MVR 70.8 million.
Giving an update on the Hinnavaru harbour development, MTCC said the second shipment of boulders had been delivered to the project site, and that groining and rivetment works are currently underway. The project is worth MVR 99.52 million.
Meanwhile, 63 percent of the concrete pipe laying work under the Gan-Thindi harbour development project has been completed. The cost of the project is MVR 24.71 million.
